Noel began attending Ferrelview Christian Church (FCC) in the Fall of 1967 when he started dating his now wife, Genie. She lovingly remembers Noel jumping in right away to help at a turkey dinner fundraiser.

Over the years, Noel has been a deacon, an elder, chairman of the board, and is now humbly serving as an elder emeritus.

Noel began teaching in North Kansas City in 1965 after graduating from the University of Missouri. He taught special education for 28 years at various schools and finished at Winnetonka High School in 1998. He also taught 6th grade at Nashua for five years in the early 1970s.

After retirement in 1998, Noel continued his lawn mowing business until his stroke in 2021.
 
His favorite activities have been:
  • Ski patrolling at Weston’s Snow Creek, where he was patrol director for 11 years and a member since 1995
  • Motorcycle riding around home and across the county
  • He was also the president of the North Kansas City Community Teachers Association (NKCCTA) for 12 years.
